Throughout the year the Academy hosts online events and visits from distinguished scholars, public intellectuals and activists. These visits form part of our annual program of public lectures, masterclasses, symposia and workshops.

Prof. Freya Mathews

Emeritus Professor of Environmental Philosophy at Latrobe University. A century after these wise words, we need to ask what kind of education and learning? How can it help us to avert catastophe & to upshift humanity into thriving?

Dr Peter Le Breton
His PhD titled Farther Reaches of Human Learning in Transformative Studies was done at California Institute of Integral Studies. He is a Warm Data Lab Host, certified by the International Bateson Institute. The porcess helps groups address complex problems. His R&D interests include  mutual learning in living systems & thought as a system.

Dr Nora Bateson
Dr Bateson is director The International Bateson Institute, creator Warm Data Lab, author Combining (November 2023), Small Arcs of Larger Circles (2016), award-winning filmmaker, producer An Ecology of Mind, a portrait of Gregory Bateson. Fellow of Lindisfarne, member of Club of Rome, winner Media Ecology Award.

Toomas Trapido
Tomas Trapido is the principal of the Gaia School in Estonia and founder of Gaia Academy/Gaia Akadeemia (adults). He’s a biologist, permaculturalist and member of the Estonian Greens Party.

Dr Shae Brown
Dr Brown is the originator of Complexity Patterning. She’s a complexity educator, academic and student advocate at Southern Cross University in Queensland, Australia.
